Fascinated with the huge man-made structures around us in nature and inspired by Edward Burtynsky’s photography project “Manufactured Landscape” and illustrations by Peter Olschinsky, I attempted to create an algorithmic construction site. To create Algorithmic Construction, I used processing as a prototyping tool.
Being new to the programming, I tried to simplify the complexity of the work by creating geometric patterns in my code that would make the work intricate and homogenous at the same time.
In this 5-day course I learnt to investigate programming as a means to create living systems and explore the beauty that hides within rule-based worlds. This investigation served as a vehicle to
submit ourselves to algorithmic thinking.
